Cretan IAMA, is the fruit of many years of research by distinguished researchers of the University of Crete. The idea started several years ago, when epidemiological observations in areas of Crete showed that people who consumed decoctions of certain herbs had very low morbidity and lesser effects of colds or flu.
The beneficial effect of selected aromatic herbs on upper respiratory tract infections led the researchers to the next step. Through many years of testing, the research highlighted a combination of essential oils from 3 aromatic Cretan herbs, Coridothymus Capitatus, Salvia Fruticosa and Origanum Dictamnus, in specific proportions, in extra virgin olive oil, which works synergistically. A clinical trial followed in patients with symptoms of respiratory viruses (common cold, flu) with beneficial results.
